Stand in the Gap for Your Children
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, And you, son of man, will you judge, will you judge the bloody city? Then declare to her all her abominations. You shall say, Thus says the Lord God: A city that sheds blood in her midst, so that her time may come, and that makes idols to defile herself! You have become guilty by the blood that you have shed, and defiled by the idols that you have made, and you have brought your days near, the appointed time of your years has come. Therefore I have made you a reproach to the nations, and a mockery to all the countries. Those who are near and those who are far from you will mock you; your name is defiled; you are full of tumult. ...
On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have set watchmen; all the day and all the night they shall never be silent. You who put the Lord in remembrance, take no rest, and give him no rest until he establishes Jerusalem and makes it a praise in the earth.
Therefore, as I live, declares the Lord God, surely, because you have defiled my sanctuary with all your detestable things and with all your abominations, therefore I will withdraw. My eye will not spare, and I will have no pity.

Stand in the Gap has been revised to equip you with better understanding and greater inspiration to pray for your children when they need it the most. This powerful testimony by Norvel Hayes of how he learned to stand in the gap for his daughter, Zona Hayes Morrow, now includes Zona's own story of the years God used her father to pray her back into a close relationship with Jesus Christ. From this powerful, biblical teaching, which includes five scripturally based prayers, you will learn how to stand in the gap for your children and surround them with unwavering faith in God's promises and love to bring them through.
The goal for most children in foster care is to be reunited with their parents. Foster families work with birth parents to achieve this goal. The length of time a child will stay with you depends on many factors. It could be for a few days, a few months, or much longer. It is important to note that medical and dental costs are covered for children in foster care. Teens in foster care are eligible for programs to help them learn life skills and may be eligible for some college financial assistance.
In many ways it is the same. Foster children need to know that you will be there for them no matter what. Foster children may have different experiences than your own children and need an additional level of care. They need you to teach them new skills, help them cope with new experiences, and support them through the transition of being in foster care.
These children can be angry, resentful, and sad. They may act out or take it out on their foster family. The agency provides training to help foster parents work with these situations. Are you able to help teach children alternative ways to cope with stress while not taking their words and actions personally?
Second, you need to plead the blood of Jesus over yourself and the person you are praying for. It is only through Jesus' blood shed on the cross that we have any authority over the things of this earth and the things of the spiritual world.
We pray a hedge of protection around ourselves, our homes, family, and name of person. We plead the blood of Jesus over _________'s addiction. We plead the blood of Jesus over their desire for drugs/alcohol. Your word promises to set the captives free and to release from darkness for the prisoned. We pray that your Holy Spirit would work in our hearts and ________, that your name would be uplifted and glorified.

You are a God of peace. Please give her peace and show her how to live out a godly and pure love to her son. We pray that you would lift her up, in Jesus name, Amen.
Thanks so much for this. Sometimes I forget that this is a true spiritual battle that must be fought & not just God not answering my prayers. I will continue to stand for the cost is too great to do anything else.

My husband and I separated 2 weeks ago because I found out he was cheating on me. He drinks almost every day and would come home to fight with me. Both my children and I have endured a lot of verbal and emotional abuse. I love my husband and know he is dealing with a battle of attention because of neglect and negative upbringing. We both started seeing a counselor individually but I want my husband back. I know God can restore our marriage for the better and would like to know how to step in the gap to pray for him. Please help me.
Thank you so much for your message. I am standing in the gap right now for my son who has finished about three weeks of rehab for a prescription drug addiction. He has struggled often most of his adult life. Praise God He says he has had a spiritual epiphanyNon-ceasing prayer is the reason for this breakthrough. Put on your armor and fight the battle with Satan. You will win if you do not faint

It was in the mid-1990s that a worrying discovery was made about a stark difference in language achievement in children. Researchers Betty Hart and Todd Risley went into homes of families from different socioeconomic groups, spending an hour each month recording them over more than two years.
Analysing the data, they found that children from the poorest backgrounds heard one-third as many words per hour as those from higher income backgrounds. Scaling up, they proposed that by the time the children were four years old, there would be a 30-million word gap between children from poor backgrounds compared to those in wealthier, professional households.
In one 2015 study, Hirsh-Pasek and colleagues looked at the speech of 60 children, all from low-income families, at age two; they returned one year later to see how these children had developed. As anticipated, the children who were taking part in more conversations at two had more advanced language one year later. Those who had fewer conversations scored worse on language ability. 041b061a72
